    1,000,000KRW of tuition fee is supported for 2 international freshmen admitted to Ewha’s undergraduate program after completing at least 3 levels of Intensive Program and graduating from level 6.

  • A

    - 20% of tuition fee will be reduced for regular and exchange students at Ewha when taking Korean Intensive Program.

    - 10% of tuition fee will be reduced for regular and exchange students at Ewha when taking Short-term Program.

    - 50% of tuition fee will be reduced for a faculty member of Ewha when taking ELC courses.

    - Process: after online-registration for the next semester, pay the tuition fee -> submit a copy of the Alien Registration Card and the receipt for tuition payment to the ELC office. Then apply for the certificates of enrollment, attendance, and grade at the ELC office(certificates take 2 business days to be issued). -> After preparing the documents below, visit the Immigration Office and apply for a D-4 Visa extension.


    Requested documents for the D-4 visa extension at Immigration Office:

    (1)Passport and Alien Registration Card

    (2)ELC documents:

    Certificate of enrollment, attendance, grade, Receipts of tuition payment

    (3)Document verifying your current residence

    : Contract information for your housing/ receipt for dormitory payment

    (4)D-4 visa Extension application form(from immigration office)

    (5)Issue Fee: 60,000 KRW


    * Additional documents such as a bank book issued by a bank in Korea(original/copy) and a bank statement (Bank balance with more than 9,000 USD, based on registering for two semesters) may be requested if deemed necessary.


    - Application period: Applying for the Visa extension is available from two months before the current expiry date, until the date of expiration. If you apply for extension after the expiry date, fine will be charged according to the Article 25 of Immigration Act

    - Application period: students who enter Korea on a D-4 (language study) Visa must apply to issue an Alien Registration Card(ARC) within 90 days from their arrival in Korea.

    -Application process: apply for a certificate of enrollment at ELC office a week after the semester begins -> With the following documents prepared, visit the Immigration Office to apply for the card.

    - Requested documents for ARC application at Immigration Office:
    (1)Original passport and a copy of passport
    (2)A face photo for passport(size: 3.5*4.5/white background/color/within 6 months)
    (3)A certificate of enrollment (apply at ELC office, only after a week from the first day of class)
    (4)An application form(available at Immigration Office)
    (5)Issuing Fee: 30,000 KRW
    (6)Medical Report(verifying medical check-up on tuberculosis:


    Based on the recently introduced Korean Immigration office regulations,
    Certain nationality holders below need to submit their Medical Report.


    - Relevant countries (16 countries): China, Sri Lanka, The Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Bangladesh, The Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia
    - Medical Check-up is available at Seodaemun-gu Community Health Center
    Direction: Bus #7017, at the opposite side of ELC(Stop: Idaebujung, stop number: 13-118) and get off at Seodaemun-gu Office Seodaemun Health Center.
    - Fee: approx. 1,500 KRW

    1. A Certificate of Admission and a receipt of tuition payment issued from the university are requirements for students to apply for a D-4 Visa.

    2. Who are qualified to get a Certificate of Admission issued: Students who register for at least 2 semesters of Intensive Program and submit a bank statement issued under the applicant’s name with at least 10,000USD of balance.

    3. Please consult with the local Korean Embassy or Consulate general in your home country for further information on required documents for Visa application, as other required documents for Visa application can differ from country to country.

    - Contents for counseling: Korean language class, campus life, matters related to university entrance.
    - Counseling hours: Mon-Fri 13:00-17:00
    - Students who want consultation should email or call the teacher in charge in advance to sign up for the service. (Contact info of the teacher in charge will be informed at the opening ceremony).

    - After-school cultural activity: watching performances, cultural experiences, field trips offered for applicants to provide access to a more variety of Korean culture.
    - Detailed schedules and application date: available on the hand-out given at the opening ceremony
    - Fee for sign-up: around 10,000-20,000 KRW, depending on the contents of the activity.

    -Who can join: Intensive Program students
    -Where and when to join clubs will be notified at the beginning of the semester.
    -Club membership fee: 12,000 KRW.


    * Capacities for the number of members for each student club differ. Club member recruiting might close early if enough number of members are recruited earlier than expected.

    - How to apply: Apply for a Dowoomi (Korean tutor) to your teacher after the semester begins.


    * Not all applicants may be matched with a Dowoomi, depending on the number of applicants for the program.
